PETH-9910 :: Power Supply 8 ... 16 V, ~ 10A
A Power Brick for larger Amplifiers
Linear Regulated for Low Noise
Four Pass Transistors for High Power
Uses Standard LM723, UA723 Voltage Regulator
Thermal Switch for Overheat Protection
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Mains Voltage (230 V) is transformed down to 15 V with a 150 W Transformer from Farnell. (#1675077, MULTICOMP VTX-146-160-115). Rectification is done by a
GBPC2510, (Farnell, #1621698). Afterwards, a bank of 11 Capacitors of 2200 µF,
35 V smoothes the rectified ac voltage.
Now a LM723 regulates the Output Voltage using a driver of either a BC141/16 OR a BD135 and
Four Pass Transistors (TIP 3055). In order to
symmetrise the currents through the Pass Transistors, an Emitter Resitor of 0.12 Ω is added in series. It ist from Distrelec (#722701).
Afterwards, a Current Sensing Resistor (Consisting of two times 0.15 Ω, Distrelec #722702, in parallel) is added.
ADJUSTMENT
Connect a Voltmeter at the Output and adjust Output Voltge using R11 to 13.8 V.
