"The SA612A is a low-power VHF monolithic double-balanced mixer with on-board
oscillator and voltage regulator. It is intended for low cost, low-power communication
systems with signal frequencies to 500 MHz and local oscillator frequencies as high as
200 MHz. The mixer is a ‘Gilbert cell’ multiplier configuration that provides gain of 14 dB or
more at 45 MHz." Says the datasheet from NXP.
As it is a low-power device, inputs and outputs have a high impedance. Therefore, a direct
connection to a 50 Ω-System needs matching circuits. Matching circuits are often
narrowband.
That's why we build this broadband resistively matched board. It allows for easy intefacing
with the "Standard" impedance of 50 Ω. The onboard oscillator circuit is not used, here.
Instead, an external LO must be supplied.

LO-Level was -4 dBm, RF-Level -4 dBm (blue) and -34 dBm (orange).
